Gal Gadot is in early talks to star opposite Bradley Cooper in MGM’s “Deeper,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
Max Landis is writing the screenplay, and Kornel Mundruczo will direct the drama.
“Deeper” follows a disgraced astronaut who embarks on a mission to reach the bottom of a newly-discovered trench in the ocean. There, he meets a level of danger that hasn’t been discovered before and soon finds himself fighting for his life.
Landis is also producing with David Goyer, and the project is a co-production between Phantom Four and Addictive Pictures. Kevin Turen from Phantom 4 and Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder from Addictive are producing as well.
Gadot recently starred in the hit blockbuster “Wonder Woman” and will reprise the role of Diana Prince in the upcoming DC Film “Justice League.” A sequel to “Wonder Woman” was also recently green lit at the studio, with Patty Jenkins returning to direct. Gadot is represented by WME.
Cooper will next star in “Avengers: Infinity War” and “A Star Is Born,” which he is also directing. He is represented by CAA.
