Gabrielle Union has joined the cast of Chris Rock‘s new movie, "Finally Famous," playing a reality-TV star engaged to Rock’s character, multiple individuals with knowledge of the deal have told TheWrap
Rock wrote and will direct the film, his third behind the camera.
Rock plays a comedian-turned-film-star who tries to reinvent himself as a serious actor. He’s also a recovering alcoholic who owes his sobriety to his fiancée (Union). Her character, eager to be more famous, ties to convince Rock to get married on her show.

Rosario Dawson already has signed on as a journalist assigned to interview Rock’s character for a New York magazine. A former party animal, Dawson's journalist is now sober and in a committed relationship, but sparks fly as she interviews Rock.
Union, represented by Intellectual Artists Management, last appeared in Sony's "Think Like a Man," one of three movies she made last year. Those were her first films since 2008; prior that she had regular supporting roles in films like "Bad Boys 2" and "Cadillac Records."
Scott Rudin is producing Rock's movie, which will shoot in New York this summer.
