Fox Picks Up Christian Slater Sitcom

Set in a high-tech security firm, “Breaking In” will be a mid-season replacement.

Fox has picked up "Breaking In," a half-hour workplace comedy starring Christian Slater.

Set in a high-tech security firm, the show will be a mid-season replacement. The network said Friday that it had ordered seven episodes.

Maybe the third time will be the charm for Slater, who is beginning to earn a reputation for being a bit of a "show killer." Other series on his hit list include the NBC thriller "My Own Worst Enemy" and ABC's drama "The Forgotten," both of which never made it to a second season.

"Breaking In" was created by Adam F. Goldberg ("Fanboys") and Seth Gordon ("Four Christmases"). In addition to Slater, the series will star Bret Harrison ("Reaper") and Odette Yustman ("You Again").

It is produced by Happy Madison Productions, Adam F. Goldberg Productions and Sethsquatch, Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Goldberg, Gordon and Doug Robinson ("Rules of Engagement") serve as executive producers, while Goldberg serves as writer. The pilot was directed by Gordon.

News of the pick-up was first reported by Deadline.
