Fox has given a series order to “Housebroken,” an animated comedy series with starring Lisa Kudrow and Clea DuVall, a rep for the network told TheWrap Thursday.
Previously known as “Therapy Dog,” the half-hour comedy is written and executive produced by DuVall, Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan, all of whom worked on “Veep.” Horgan, who is also voicing a part, will executive produce along with Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor, and Clelia Mountford.
Here is the official logline from Fox: “Housebroken” is an irreverent series that explores human dysfunction and neurosis through a group of neighborhood animals who live in the suburbs.
Others lending their voices to the series include Nat Faxon, Will Forte, Tony Hale, Jason Mantzoukas, Sam Richardson, Bresha Webb and Greta Lee.
The series is a co-production of Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and Fox, and Fox’s recently-acquired animation studio, Bento Box, which is the same studio that does “Bob’s Burgers.”
Fox’s other animation projects include “Bless the Harts,” which follows a Southern family that’s always struggling to make ends meet and stars Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Jillian Bell, “Duncanville,” which follows a 15-year-old boy with a wild fantasy life and stars Amy Poehler, Mike Scully, Ty Burrell, Wiz Khalifa and Rashida Jones, and “The Great North,” which follows the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family as single dad Beef does his best to keep his weird bunch of kids close, starring Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Megan Mullally, Paul Rust, Aparna Nancherla, Will Forte, and Dulcé Sloan.
