Football season kicked off on Thursday night when the Green Bay Packers took on Super Bowl champs Seattle Seahawks, but Jimmy Kimmel got the ball rolling a day earlier by recruiting a roster of NFL stars to read mean tweets.
Current players including Washington Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson, and Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant joined former football stars Terrell Owens, Keyshawn Johnson and Michael Strahan in reading mean — and sometimes hilarious — insults hurled at them over social media.
“Michael Strahan’s teeth are having a middle school dance, where the boys stand on one side of the room and the girls stand on the other,” Strahan read during the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” segment (above).
Even Erin Andrews, the Fox Sports reporter who is replacing Pam Oliver on the sidelines this year, got in on the action.

“Hopefully a ball to your temple will knock the stupid out of you,” Andrews read.
As Andrews may soon discover, a ball connecting with her face is a very real possibility, as Oliver learned last year.
