‘Fleabag’ Season 2: Phoebe Waller-Bridge Goes to Battle With God in New Trailer (Video)

Six-episode season premieres May 17 on Amazon

Amazon has released the first trailer for the second season of the acclaimed Phoebe Waller-Bridge comedy “Fleabag.”

The new trailer teases the addition of “Sherlock” star Andrew Scott as a Catholic priest who “jolts [Fleabag] into seeing the world in a different way,” and “Killing Eve” star Fiona Shaw as Fleabag’s therapist.

The new set of episodes comes nearly three years after the first season, with a break for Waller-Bridge to create and write the first season of BBC America’s “Killing Eve.” Now, having handed over the reins of that show, “Fleabag” is heading back to Amazon on May 17.

Per Amazon, the new season picks up a year after the first, with “old wounds to unpick and new ones to dress as the next chapter of Fleabag’s life takes her to hell and back … Our heroine finds herself in the midst of a battle she is determined to win: Fleabag vs. God.”

In addition to Waller-Bridge and Scott, Season 2 will also bring back recent Oscar-winner Olivia Colman, along with Sian Clifford, Bill Paterson, Brett Gelman, Jenny Rainsford, Hugh Skinner and Hugh Dennis.

Waller-Bridge is creator and executive producer on the comedy, alongside director Harry Bradbeer, Lydia Hampson, Harry Williams, Jack Williams, Joe Lewis.
