Making its first major creative hire since Christina Wayne left the network in February, AMC has brought on Susie Fitzgerald to serve as senior VP of scripted development and current programming.
Fitzgerald, a former Darren Star Productions staffer who most recently served as president of Josephson Entertainment (“Bones,” “Enchanted”), will be based out of AMC’s West Coast office, where she’ll report to Joel Stillerman, senior VP of original programming, production and digital content for the Rainbow Media-owned cable channel.
“She has a terrific track record of working with both established and new talent, and she truly understands what we are trying to do at AMC,” Stillerman said.
Working out of AMC’s Los Angeles office, Fitzgerald will assume many but not all of the duties formerly handled by Wayne, who worked out of channel’s New York office and notably oversaw the gestation of “Mad Men” for the channel.
