James Franco and Danny Boyle are teaming up to tell the true story of Aron Ralston, the mountain climber who amputated his own arm after being trapped by a boulder. The 127 hours in question refer to the five days Ralston spent trying to free himself.
The preview released on Tuesday makes the film look like a fun-loving ride — at least until the last moments — but the subject matter sure seems grim. It also trades heavily on Boyle's past hits such as "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Trainspotting." Given the talent involved, awards attention seems a given. The film hits theaters on Nov. 5, 2010.
