Apple TV+ added two new characters for the second season of “Dickinson.” Finn Jones and Pico Alexander will join the Hailee Steinfeld-led drama.
Jones will play Samuel Bowles, an energetic and magnetic newspaper editor, while Alexander will portray Henry “Ship” Shipley, a dropout of Amherst College and a boarder with the Dickinsons. Along with Steinfeld, Jane Krakowski, Toby Huss, Anna Baryshnikov, Ella Hunt and Adrian Blake Enscoe will all return.
Jones is known for his starring role as Danny Rand/Iron Fist in “Marvel’s Iron Fist” that ran on Netflix for two seasons, as well as his recurring role as Loras in HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Alexander most recently appeared in Hulu’s “Catch-22” as Clevinger.
According to Apple TV+, “Dickinson” audaciously explores the constraints of society, gender and family from the perspective of rebellious young poet, Emily Dickinson (Steinfeld). Set in the 19th century, “Dickinson” is a coming-of-age story that finds Emily Dickinson to be an unexpected hero for our millennial era.
It debuted on Nov. 1, the same day that Apple TV+ launched.
The series is written and executive produced by Alena Smith, who also serves as showrunner. It’s executive produced by Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta for Sugar23 Productions; Alex Goldstone for Anonymous Content; and Steinfeld. It’s produced by Wiip, Anonymous Content and Sugar23.
