‘Finding Magic Mike’ Trailer: Watch This Guy Give ‘Somebody’s Grandma’ a Lap Dance in New HBO Max Competition (Video)

Series from “Magic Mike” producers debuts Dec. 16

HBO Max’s “Finding Magic Mike” team has their work cut out for them in the trailer for the new competition series, which will see the iconic Las Vegas show give “ordinary guys a chance to work their magic.”

In the video, which you can view above, you’ll meet the average Joes hoping to become Channing Tatums over the course of the seven-episode “Finding Magic Mike” makeover/male-stripping competition.

“This isn’t just about taking your clothes off, you’re coming to see a show,” “Magic Mike” actor Adam Rodriguez, who is acting as a kind of mentor for the guys, says in the trailer.

Once the boys start to get it — and get really into it — “Magic Mike XXL” alum Luke Broadlick, who’s also coaching the contestants on the HBO Max series, jokes, “We’ve created monsters!”

By the end of the trailer, one guy’s enthusiasm takes another by surprise, as he straddles an older woman he’s taken on stage for a lap dance during “Magic Mike Live”: “Yo, that’s somebody’s grandma, bro. That’s somebody’s grandma, bro!”

Here’s the official description for “Finding Magic Mike,” which is produced by Tatum and “Magic Mike” director Steven Soderbergh: “Ten regular guys who have ‘lost their magic’ are put through the paces of a Magic Mike Live bootcamp, baring their souls – and more – as they learn to perform sexy and daring dance routines with one being crowned the real Magic Mike. The winner will pocket a cash prize.”

Along with Rodriguez and Broadlick, the “Finding Magic Mike” cast includes Alison Faulk and Vincent Marini. Whitney Cummings, Nikki Glaser, Nicole Scherzinger, Amanda Seales and Robin Thede serve as guest judges.

“Finding Magic Mike” is executive produced by Tatum, Soderbergh, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan, Gregory Jacobs, Nick Wechsler, Marini, Alycia Rossiter, Cassie Lambert Scalettar, Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, David Tibballs and Rodriguez. Anita Brown, Kevin Boyer and Jenny Chan are co-executive producers.

The competition series hails from Eureka Productions and Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon.

“Finding Magic Mike” will debut Dec. 16 on HBO Max.
