Film Producer-Financier The Fyzz Facility Opens LA Office, Closes 50th Deal

The London-based company is expanding across the pond to better serve the industry’s needs

Film producer-financier The Fyzz Facility is opening a new Los Angeles office as it celebrates closing its 50th feature film investment.

Owned and managed by producers Wayne Marc Godfrey (“Cake”) and Robert Jones (“The Usual Suspects”), the Fyzz Facility works with producers, sales agents and talent agencies to invest in film production. The company co-funds projects across all budget levels and genres, with experience that spans development, production, distribution, acquisition, sales and financing.

The Fyzz Facility has established a strong track record from its London base, investing just shy of $40 million across 50 feature films since 2010. The company’s expansion to Los Angeles reflects its involvement in an increasing number of U.S. projects and its desire to consolidate existing relationships and develop new partnerships on a global scale.

“Whilst we continue to support British films and help nurture British talent, an expansion to the U.S. has become a necessary next step for us, considering the importance Hollywood has on the global film business. Robert and I are excited to join the filmmaking community in LA and hope our track record for being filmmaker friendly, delivering on promises and being one of the fastest closers in the business will make us a welcome addition,” said Godfrey.

“At heart and in practice we are film producers so we’ll continue to approach each project with due regard to the challenges involved in bringing a project from script to screen, as well as the responsibility and diligence that goes with any decision to invest,” added Jones.

The Fyzz Facility’s 50 productions and investments to date include the upcoming Jennifer Aniston drama “Cake,” an adaptation of Martin Amis’ “London Fields” starring  Amber Heard and Billy Bob Thornton, and the Bruce Willis-John Cusack movie “The Prince.” Forthcoming films include Martin Scorsese‘s “Silence,” the Kurt Russell western “Bone Tomahawk” and Willis’ sci-fi thriller “Vice.”

Many Hollywood veterans have sung the praises of the Fyzz Facility.

If he says he can do something he will, and if he can’t he won’t. No nonsense, no procrastination, which is exactly what I want from any collaboration,” said “Rush Hour” producer Arthur Sarkissian.

“I have never worked with a better group. They are there every step of the way on our films,” said “Silence” producer Randall Emmett of Emmett Furla Films.

“Without the support of The Fyzz Facility, there would be no ‘Bone Tomahawk.’ It’s as simple as that. When we hit an impasse with our financier at the time during pre-production, The Fyzz stepped in and worked tirelessly to replace them in a matter of weeks,” added “Bone Tomahawk” producer Dallas Sonnier.

“It’s been a great ride to work with The Fyzz since we started with them on Paul Walker’s Vehicle 19.’ They are fast and diligent which is a rare combination in our industry,” K5 International’s Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur said in a joint statement.

In late 2014, the Fyzz Facility heads into production on the psychological thriller “A Patch of Fog,” and the company is also developing an adaptation of the bestselling thriller novel “The Chinaman” with screenwriter David Marconi.
