The team at Screen Junkies celebrated the 100th episode of their popular “Honest Trailers” web series on Tuesday with a parody trailer for “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
“Six years ago, Fanfiction.net user SnowqueenIceDragons wrote a dirty story on her cell phone,” the trailer begins, referencing the path to fame for “Fifty Shades” author E.L. James. “Then, you turned her kinky ‘Twilight’ fan fiction into one of the best-selling novels of all time. Way to go.”
The parody pulls no punches as it runs down lines from the book that didn’t make it into the movie, including: “I feel the color in my cheeks rising again. I must be the color of the communist manifesto;” and “His erection springs free. Holy cow!”
Screen Junkies even wrote a parody of Beyonce’s remix of the song “Crazy in Love” with new lyrics such as “I wish somebody would taze me right now/This story’s ’bout as sexy as rabies right now.”
“Honest Trailers” launched in 2012 and has received over 550 million views on YouTube. They have sent up trailers for major releases like “The Avengers,” “Frozen” and “The Dark Knight.”
