‘Fast & Furious’ Writer Chris Morgan Lands TV Deal at 20th Century Fox TV

Under two-year deal, Chris Morgan will write and produce series for 20th Century Fox Television

Chris Morgan is moving fast and furiously into the television realm.

Morgan, who has penned the majority of films in the "Fast & Furious" franchise (including "Fast & Furious 6," out next month), has entered a two-year pod deal with 20th Century Fox Television, the company told TheWrap on Monday. Under the deal, Morgan will write and produce new series for 20th TV, and supervise other writers and develop other projects for all networks.

The deal also brings Morgan's newly formed television company Chris Morgan Productions under the 20th TV banner.

Morgan executive produced and wrote the Fox pilot "Gang Related," which is being produced by 20th Century Fox Television. He is also executive producing the ABC pilot "Big Thunder," based on the Disney ride Big Mountain Thunder Railroad.

Dana Walden, chairman of 20th Century Fox Television, cited Morgan's work on "Gang Related" in announcing the deal.

"We are having a fantastic experience with Chris on our FBC pilot 'Gang Related' and were so impressed with his work, both as a writer and as a producer," Walden said. "He’s not just inventive and collaborative — he’s also a really great guy."

Morgan also enthused about his "Gang Related" experience with the TV studio, adding, "I have big goals in television and I look forward to achieving them with the studio as my creative partner."

Deadline first reported the news of Morgan's deal with 20th TV.
