Farley Granger, an actor known for his rolls in several Alfred Hitchcock films, has died. He was 85.
Granger passed away Sunday at his home in Manhattan.
As a teenager, Granger signed with the legendary film producer Samuel Goldwyn, who "discovered him on stage in a Hollywood play and committed him to a seven-year contract beginning at $100 a week," according to a Los Angeles Times profile.
He starred in Hitchcock’s 1948 thriller "Rope" opposite James Stewart. Granger was also featured in Hitchcock's 1951 psychological thriller "Strangers on a Train."
