Chris O'Dowd ("Girls," "Bridesmaids") discovers he's related to a few of Christopher Guest's favorite collaborators in the first trailer for the mockumentarian's HBO series, "Family Tree."
Michael McKean — who co-wrote and co-starred with Guest in "This Is Spinal Tap" — stars as O'Dowd's father, while Ed Begley Jr. ("This Is Spinal Tap," "For Your Consideration"), Bob Balaban ("For Your Consideration," "A Mighty Wind") and Fred Willard ("Waiting for Guffman," "A Mighty Wind") make appearances throughout the series as characters O'Dowd meets while exploring his family's history after inheriting a mysterious box of belongings from his great aunt.

"Family Tree," a comedy series created by Guest and Jim Piddock, premieres on HBO this May.
