Facebook: ‘Drastically Simplified’ Privacy Controls Coming Wednesday

Executive says simpler options to arrive midweek

In his Washington Post op-ed on Monday, Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg promised simpler privacy controls "in the coming weeks."

It appears by "weeks" he meant "days." According to product VP Chris Cox, who was speaking at a TechCrunch event in New York, Facebook plans to roll out those  “drastically simplified” privacy controls to users on Wednesday.

What those controls will look like remains to be seen. Some in the tech space fear oversimplification (an "all-or-nothing" option, for instance) could hurt the overall user experience.

Stay tuned.
