EXCLUSIVE
Back in November, it was reported that Rebecca Hall was the frontrunner to star in Stephen Frears' adaptation of Beth Raymer's gambling memoir "Lay the Favorite."
Well, TheWrap can now exclusively report that the actress' deal is closed and she is set for the Focus Features film.
D.V. De Vincentis wrote the script, which tells Raymer's story about how she became involved with some veteran gamblers who figured out how to beat the Vegas sports book system.
Hall most recently played Ben Affleck's love interest in "The Town," which could find itself with a surprise Best Picture nomination come Tuesday morning. She also starred in "The Red Riding Trilogy" and Nicole Holofcener's "Please Give."
The actress will soon be seen opposite Will Ferrell in the indie dramedy "Everything Must Go," and she also recently wrapped two more indies, "The Awakening" and "A Bag of Hammers."
Hall is currently on stage in London at the National Theatre in “Twelfth Night," and she is represented by WME and Julian Belfrage Associates.
