John Bolton, former national security adviser to Donald Trump who stepped down in September, has signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster worth approximately $2 million, the Associated Press reported Saturday.
The title, subject, and release date of the book is not known and no other details have been made public. Citing anonymous individuals at Simon & Schuster, AP reports that the deal was signed “over the past few weeks.” Simon & Schuster declined to comment.
With the deal, Bolton will become the third person to parlay a Trump administration job into a lucrative book contract. Former FBI Director James Comey landed a $2 million deal with Macmillan after he was fired by Trump; his best-selling memoir “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership” was released in April, 2018.
