New Catwoman Zoe Kravitz, who will play the role in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” got the seal of approval Thursday from “Catwoman” star Halle Berry.

“Special shout-out to your new #CatWoman, the eternally graceful & extremely bad ass @ZoeKravitz. Keep shining Queen & welcome to the family!” Berry tweeted Thursday afternoon.

Berry played Catwoman in the 2004 film, which drew loosely from Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns.” Differing sharply from the comics, the film focused on a woman named Patience who is murdered, then brought back to life and given supernatural cat-like powers.

The story of “The Batman” is still under wraps, as are details about Kravitz’s take on the character. But in the comics, Catwoman is the alias of Selina Kyle, a master cat burglar who straddles the line between hero and criminal, protects Gotham City’s east end, and has an on-again, off-again romantic relationship with Batman.

It’s not the first time Halle Berry has given respect to another actress on Twitter. Back in July she congratulated Halle Bailey for being cast as Ariel in Disney’s live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid,” saying “Halles get it DONE.”

Written and directed by Reeves, “The Batman” will star Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Paul Dano as The Riddler. It’s slated for release in 2021.
