Ewan McGregor has joined the cast of “August: Osage County,” John Wells’ upcoming film adaptation of the Pulitzer-Prize winning play, The Weinstein Company announced on Wednesday.
Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts have already signed on to star in the film, in which McGregor will play Bill Fordham. Fordham is the estranged husband of Barbara (Roberts) and son-in-law of Violet Weston (Streep).
The play, written by Tracy Letts, chronicles the women of the Weston family, who, after years apart, come together for a family crisis.
