Sullivan Stapleton may be defending Greece from an army of invading Persians led by Eva Green, but that doesn’t stop him from locking lips with her in a new trailer for “300: Rise of an Empire.”

The sequel to “300” follows Greek general Themistocles (Stapleton) leading more shirtless soldiers into battle to avenge the death of King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) as mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) sends a sadistic navy commander (Green) to finish the job he already started in director Zack Snyder’s 2006 blockbuster.

Noam Murro (“Smart People”) took over directing duties for Snyder, who produced and co-wrote the screenplay with Kurt Johnstad.

Legendary’s bloody action movie, based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller, arrives in theaters on March 7.
