ESPN’s longtime NFL analyst Mark Schlereth has jumped to Fox Sports 1.
The former Denver Broncos player tweeted out the news on Tuesday, stating that the move is effective immediately. “I’m excited to announce that starting today 7/11/17 I have moved to @FS1 as a studio analyst. Truly blessed to have this opportunity,” he wrote.
Schlereth’s FS1 debut came on Tuesday’s episode of “Undisputed” alongside Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe and Joy Taylor. He had previously been with ESPN since 2001.
The transition was reportedly in the works prior to network chief Jamie Horowitz’s ousting last week. According to a report from Sporting News, it had been under negotiation for months and was likely finalized before Horowitz’s departure.
Horowitz, also a former ESPNer, was fired from Fox Sports last week for what the company called “professional conduct” reasons. Reports from the New York Times and Los Angeles Times said that his sudden dismissal came about amid a sexual harassment investigation.
In a statement released last week, Horowitz’s attorney Patty Glaser denied the allegations of misconduct, adding that Horowitz “has performed in an exemplary fashion” in his role as president of Fox Sports National Networks.
