ESPN has reached a 12-year agreement with the Atlantic Coast Conference for exclusive rights to every conference-controlled football and men's basketball games, as well as women's basketball, conference Championships and Olympic sports matchups involving ACC teams.
The agreement begins with the 2011-12 season and continues through 2022-23. It will result in about 4,800 events over the 12 years appearing on ESPN's television outlets, digital and mobile platforms, on its syndicated outlets and other areas.
Also, through a sublicense agreement with ESPN, Raycom Sports will continue to be the syndication home of ACC sports content for over-the-air and regional cable network distribution in both ACC markets and beyond. Raycom Sports also will manage the ACC's digital assets, including the conference's official website.
ESPN has been televising ACC games since the first year of the network in 1979.
The ACC has some of the highest-profile college sports teams in the country, including North Carolina, Duke, Miami, Maryland, Boston College, Florida State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Clemson, Georgia Tech and North Carolina State.
