James Holmes watched the first half-hour of "The Dark Knight Rises" before slipping out, arming himself and allegedly killing 12 people and wounding 58 in a mass shooting.
Now, the suspected gunman wants to know how the movie ended.
"Did you see the movie?" Holmes asked a worker at the Arapahoe County Jail in Centennial, Colo., Tuesday, according to the New York Daily News. "How does it end?"

Holmes' voice reportedly was flat and his eyes — like in the video of him in court Monday — glazed.
A witness to the exchange between Holmes and the worker told the paper that the 24-year-old former Ph.D student "was trying to look like he was sincerely curious," and "he's trying real hard to act crazy."

Authorities muzzled him with a spit guard after he would not stop spitting at guards, ABC News reported.
