EOnline bested traffic juggernaut websites TMZ and People on its way to its strongest-ever quarter with 11.1 million unique visits to its website in September, according to comScore.
It’s the first time in EOnline’s history that it has beaten TMZ and People in desktop traffic, though the sites followed closely behind with 11 million uniques each. Their traffic numbers were significantly down year-over-year: TMZ lost 26 percent and People lost 10.

EOnline, on the other hand, gained big — a 27 percent increase. The site boasted that it also had its strongest-ever quarter, traffic-wise, with monthly average uniques of 11 million to EOnline via desktop devices and 9 million on mobile.
The site said it’s seen big unique viewer gains since its July 2012 redesign, and attributed its recent Fashion Week and Emmy coverage in helping it edge out the competition.
