“Empire” returns to Fox this fall with more drama for the Lyon clan, and the first trailer for the new season gives just a taste of what’s to come.
New music, new money and new power are teased, and it ends with the start of a confrontation between exes Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson).
“Empire” was a ratings record breaker for Fox. The show’s finale achieved a 6.5 rating, drawing in 16.7 million total viewers. The show also broke a 23-year ratings record, as it is the only primetime scripted series to grow in total viewers over each of its first five telecasts.
“Empire” returns for a super-sized second season on Sept. 23.
