The cast and creator of “Empire” have voiced their choice for the next president: Hillary Clinton.
Stars of the hit Fox show, including Taraji P. Henson, Bryshere Gray, Trai and Grace Byers, Jussie Smollett, Gabourey Sidibe and Tasha Smith joined Lee Daniels in a new ad for the Clinton campaign that was released on Wednesday, titled “What Will I Say?”
“What will I tell my son? What will you tell your daughter?” Taraji P. Henson asks, to open up the video. “What will we tell the future generation?”
The “Empire” actors go on to list African-Americans who were victims of violence, including Trayvon Martin, Freddie Gray and Philando Castile.
Viewers are told that the “violence and nasty rhetoric against mankind is unacceptable, and if Trump gets into office — it will only get worse.”
Along with gun control, the “Empire” stars praise Clinton’s stance on Obamacare and women’s rights.
“I want a president who stands up against intolerance … there is only one person in this race who said black lives matter,” they say.
“Empire” co-creator Daniels, who also directed the video, closes it out with a strong statement. “So many women and men died for us to have the right to vote. Every time we sit out, we dishonor their sacrifices,” he says.
