‪Emmy Quickie: ‘Crossroads of History’ Star Lou Diamond Phillips Reveals His Dream Role (Exclusive Video)‬

Emmy nominee talks to TheWrap about his History channel show and being “shirtless and sweaty”

“The Crossroads of History” star Lou Diamond Phillips revealed his dream role and, like the rest of the world, he is a huge fan of “Breaking Bad.”

“If I could go back and do ‘Breaking Bad,’ oh my gosh!” he told TheWrap in a recent interview. “But then I wouldn’t be Walter White; I would be Walter Brown. And, Liev Schreiber on ‘Ray Donovan.’ That is just an amazing show and an amazing role.”

The 54-year-old Phillips — who won a Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Award in 1989 for his work in “Stand By Me” — is up for an Emmy as Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series. He plays the Taino Chief in “The Crossroads of History” on the History channel.

“This is a look at factual events, it is satirical and funny, it will make you laugh but will also make you think,” Phillips said of the show.

And Phillips reunited with his “The 33” costar Oscar Nuñez on the set of “The Crossroads of History.”

“I got very close to Oscar Nuñez, and he’s one of the reasons I did it,” Phillips said. “Oscar and I spent a couple of months shirtless and sweaty together in a mine in Bogota, Colombia, so it was a chance to go back and bring the funny with him.”
