Emma Watson is going from Harry Potter good girl to thief, starring in Sofia Coppola's "The Bling Ring," Coppola said Wednesday.
The movie, which Coppola wrote and is directing and producing, is about a group of teens who take part in a string of celebrity burglaries. It is inspired by true events.
"I am excited about the young cast we're assembling and I'm looking forward to shooting on location here in Los Angeles," Coppola said in a statement.

The movie follows a group of fashion-and-fame-obsessed teens who track celebrities' whereabouts online and then break into their homes and steal designer clothes and possessions.
Coppola won the best original screenplay Oscar for her 2003 "Lost in Translation."
Watson starred as Hermione in the "Harry Potter" films and stars in this fall's "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." She recently signed to star in David Yates' "Your Voice in My Head" and Guillermo del Toro's "Beauty and the Beast."
Roman Coppola and Youree Henley also are producing the movie.
