Although Emma Stone couldn’t make it to an Arizona prom, she wanted Jacob Staudenmaier, the teen who asked her to the dance in an epic “La La Land” tribute, to knock his date’s socks off.

According to NBC 12 News Arizona, Staudenmaier received a corsage, boutonniere and a handwritten note from the Academy Award-winning actress.

Last month, Staudenmaier, a 17-year-old high school student, went through extraordinary measures to ask the actress to his prom at the end of the month. Along with several friends who served as extras, he recreated the opening scene of the movie “La La Land” where cars are jam-packed on the Los Angeles freeway.

He altered the lyrics of “Another Day of Sun” for the promposal.

A few days later, Stone politely declined the offer due to work obligations.

“JACOB, thanks for making the greatest proposal I’ve ever received,” Staudenmaier read during an appearance on “Good Morning America.”

“I can’t tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video. I’m in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom, and I’m grateful you thought of me. THANK YOU. P.S. I do see Gosling around the eyes. Love, Emma,” she wrote.

A representative for Stone has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
