Emma Stone is already famous for playing Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Man franchise. Now one artist is lobbying hard for the recent Oscar winner to also sign onto the Batman one.
Comic book artist Kode A., creator of BossLogic, Inc., took to Twitter to share two of his latest drawings, in which Batgirl is depicted as a redhead. One picture depicts Stone without a cowl, while the other shows “La La Land” actress with the mask.

Oscar winner Brie Larson, who the artist referenced in his tweet, was spotted sharing an emotional hug with Stone following her win. Larson is suiting up soon to play Captain Marvel in Marvel’s 2019 film.

Batgirl Fans on Reddit and other comic book forums have been throwing Stone’s name around to play the superhero in a standalone film as far back as 2010.
The DCEU has several films in store in the upcoming years, so there would be plenty of opportunities to introduce Batgirl. Some of the projects include the Harley Quinn-led “Gotham City Sirens,” as well as the recently-announced “Nightwing.”
Stone starred as Gwen Stacy in the “Amazing Spider-Man” series alongside Andrew Garfield as the titular character. Stone’s next big role is as Cruella De Vil in Disney’s live-action “Cruella,” directed by Alex Timbers.
