Eminem Pauses During Coachella Set to Respond to Mean Tweets (Video)

He had to do something to compete with Beyonce

Eminem probably didn’t have a chance to make a bigger impression at Coachella than Beyonce (really, who would?) when he took the stage on Sunday night. But we have to give him props for at least thinking of one way to wow the crowd that the queen didn’t: stopping his set to clap back at haters on Twitter.

Because when it’s your set, it’s your set, right?

The rapper made the bit even better by bringing the king of the Mean Tweet, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, to his gig via live-stream on Coachella’s main stage, according to the Guardian.

“I love Eminem but not everyone does,” Kimmel said, before reading aloud some Slim Shady-specific shade aloud for the audience.

“No one’s been paying attention to you since 2003,” read one. Ouch.

But Eminem didn’t take it that bad, replying to one that asked, “Remember when Eminem was actually dope?” with: “He kinda has a point.”

He then asked the crowd, “Coachella, can I take you back to a time when I was actually good?” and threw out hits like “My Name Is” and “The Real Slim Shady,” and topped of his nostalgia-filled set with an appearance from Dr. Dre.

That’ll show ’em.
