Emily Blunt in Negotiations to Co-Star in Rupert Friend’s Directorial Debut

The “Young Victoria” co-stars will reunite for “Barton & Charlie & Checco & Bill”

Emily Blunt is in negotiations to join “Homeland” star Rupert Friend on the screen in his directorial debut, “Barton & Charlie & Checco & Bill.”

Friend wrote the script and will produce alongside Aaron L. Gilbert of Bron Studios and Margot Hand. Fortitude’s Nadine de Barros and Robert Ogden Barnum and Creative Wealth’s Jason Cloth are executive producing.

Friend will play a grifter who meets a woman (Blunt) and begins teaching her tricks of the trade. When she turns the tables on him and they embark on a road trip adventure of con-artistry, disguise, lies and love.

The film,  scheduled to commence principal photography this spring, will be co-financed by Bron Studios and Fortitude International in association with Creative Wealth Media Finance.

Fortitude’s co-principal Nadine de Barros and Vice President of International Katie Irwin will kick-off sales at the American Film Market.  CAA packaged and is handling domestic rights.

Blunt, who previously co-starred with Friend in “The Young Victoria,” will next be seen in theaters in Disney’s “Into the Woods.” Friend, on the other hand, may become an action hero as “Hitman: Agent 47,” a video game adaptation Fox is releasing in theaters next summer.
