Julia Roberts and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” stars Ellie Kemper and Tituss Burgess are among a new batch of voice cameos announced by Sony Pictures Animation Wednesday for the upcoming movie ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village.’
In the animated film based on the classic comic and cartoon series, Smurfette (Demi Lovato) leads her fellow male Smurfs on an expedition for the titular Lost Village, hoping that it will prove that she’s not the only female Smurf in existence.
Roberts plays SmurfWillow, the leader of the Lost Village, with Kemper, Michelle Rodriguez, and Ariel Winter playing her fellow residents.
Other cameos announced include Burgess, Gordon Ramsay, Gabriel Iglesias, Jeff Dunham, Jake Johnson, and the film’s director, Kelly Asbury (“Shrek 2”).
Along with Lovato, the main cast includes Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf; Rainn Wilson as the villain Gargamel; and Joe Manganiello, Jack McBrayer, and Danny Pudi as Smurfette’s fellow villagers.
“Smurfs: The Lost Village” is written by Stacey Harman and Pamela Ribon, with Jordan Kerner and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews producing.
It will be released in theaters April 7.
