Dylan McDermott has signed on to star as the make lead in "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's upcoming FX pilot "American Horror Story," FX said Friday.
The former "The Practice" actor will star alongside Jessica Lange, "Friday Night Lights" actress Connie Britton, and "The Good Wife" actor Denis O'Hare, who had previously been cast.
Most recently, McDermott starred in the TNT drama "Dark Blue."

Murphy and Falchuk have indicated that the show will be a gritty affair (as if the title wasn't enough of a giveaway) along the lines of their previous FX series, "Nip/Tuck."
