Dwayne Johnson and Jimmy Fallon talked about two of their favorite workout gurus from the 1980s — and somehow the 1950s as well — on “The Tonight Show.” They offered three “clips” of the Fungo Brothers showcasing workout techniques that may have been ahead of their time.
It was a silly bit that could have come right out of Fallon’s days on “Saturday Night Live.” He even struggled to keep a straight face throughout the sketch, which was kind of his “SNL” signature move.

It didn’t help that they had to run back to the desk between “clips” to set up the next one, changing into their suit jackets. Johnson had a red blanket on his lap to cover his shorts, but said it was because it was cold. Over all, though, attempts to maintain the illusion were minimal at best.
Still, it was a lot of fun watching Fallon struggle to keep up with Johnson during the workouts themselves. Even he had to admit that one of those Fungo Brothers appeared to be in worse shape than the other.

For their final clip, they took on the Shake Weight, and the jokes could be seen coming from a mile away. Especially considering that Fallon’s Fungo brother was named Jack, and they dubbed it the Jack Weight.
“You gotta hustle for the muscle,” the pair said as their signature catchphrase.
