Dwayne Johnson made damn sure that wrestling fans still smell what he is cooking in the first look at upcoming movie “Fighting with My Family,” which follows the life story of WWE Superstar Paige.
In the trailer, Paige (Florence Pugh) and her brother Zak (Jack Lowden) bump into The Rock before tryouts and ask him for tips on how to win over the notoriously tough pro-wrestling crowd.
Playing himself in the clip, Johnson insults the “two rejects from ‘Harry Potter’” and says Zak comes across like he just “stepped out of ‘Oliver Twist.’” It’s all in the name of actual advice.
Lena Headey, Stephen Merchant, Nick Frost and Vince Vaughn also star in the flick, which will be produced by Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions, a venture the Superstar-turned-movie star co-founded with Dany Garcia. Seven Bucks is partnering up with Misher Films, WWE Studios and Film 4 for the project.
The movie is inspired by the Channel 4 British documentary “The Wrestlers: Fighting With My Family.”
“Fighting with My Family” enters the ring on September 14.
