If you ever played the “Dungeons & Dragons” tabletop game, you know you can’t go it alone.
In this feature film adaptation, Chris Pine leads an unlikely band of heroes in search of a powerful relic called the Helm of Disjunction. With the helm, they’ll be able to thwart the plans of an evil sorceress bent on destruction (aren’t they always?).
Along the way, they’ll venture through some dungeons, fight dragons (and other fantastic beasts) and most importantly, bond as an adventuring party — or die trying.

Chris Pine as Edgin Darvis
Character Class: Bard
A human bard who regales audiences with his charm and storytelling. His lute doubles as a club in a pinch, in case he needs to whack his foes. He is good friends — and cellmates — with Holga Kilgore.
Michelle Rodriguez as Holga Kilgore
Character Class: Barbarian
Holga is a human barbarian exiled from the Uthgardt Elk Tribe. She is a master with the battle axe, though can fight equally well bare-handed (or with whatever is lying around). She is fiercely protective of Kira, whom she treats as an adopted daughter.
Rege-Jean Page as Xenk Yendar
Character Class: Paladin
Xenk is holy warrior who experienced great darkness as a child. He is a skilled swordsman and doer of good deeds, like rescuing children.
Sophia Lillis as Doric
Character Class: Druid
Doric is a tiefling, which means she has demonic lineage in her bloodline, hence her horns and tail. She was raised by wild elves as a druid. She has the ability to wild shape — or shapeshift — into any creature. She is also a crack shot with her sling.
Justice Smith as Simon Aumar
Character Class: Sorceror
A half-elf descendant of the legendary mage Elminster, Simon is a sorceror, which means magic flows through him rather than researched via spellbooks. He is able to use magical items like staves and helms.
Hugh Grant as Forge Fitzwillliam
Character Class: Rogue
A human thief with little honor. Forge acts as Kira’s guardian while Elgin is imprisoned.
Daisy Head as Sofina
Character Class: Wizard
A Red Wizard of Thay, Sofina specializes in necromancy or death magic. Forge Fitzwilliam enlists her help — or is it the other way around?
Chloe Coleman as Kira
Character Class: None
Kira is Elgin’s daughter. She wears a pendant of invisibility to help her get out of dangerous situations. She is close to Forge, whom she calls her “uncle” after Elgin is arrested.
