Drinking, Slapping and Laughing With the Stars: TheWrap’s Best On-Screen Moments in 2014 (Video)

From quizzing Jennifer Aniston to getting slapped by Chris Lowell, a slew of Hollywood heavyweights went on camera with TheWrap in 2014

TheWrap traveled the globe to cover the world of entertainment in 2014 and sat down with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars to drink, laugh and even get slapped across the face.

Whether it was “Cake” star Jennifer Aniston taking on executive editor Joseph Kapsch in a quiz about herself at TheWrap’s new home base in Santa Monica or “Beside Still Waters” director Chris Lowell literally getting slap-happy with film reporter Jeff Sneider, 2014 was filled with memorable on-screen moments.

We tried to figure out #WhoKilledSam on ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder” during TheWrap’s popular new interview series “Drinking With the Stars,” but stars Alfred Enoch and Jack Falahee wouldn’t spill the beans about the Shonda Rhimes drama.

Other celebrities who shared an adult beverage with TheWrap for “DWTS” in 2014 include Regina Hall (“Think Like a Man Too”), Nick Jonas (“The Kingdom”), Lucy Hale (“Pretty Little Liars”), Paul Wesley (“The Vampire Diaries”), Chloe Bennett (“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD”), Theo Rossie & Kim Coates (“Sons of Anarchy”), Evan Peters (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) and Uzo Aduba (“Orange Is the New Black”).

There were plenty of laughs and outtakes, and a couple of slaps. Karla Souza (“HTGAWM”) gave a classically fake slap, missing TheWrap’s Itay Hod by several inches, but Chris Lowell definitely connected with Jeff Sneider during their “DWTS” chat. Both slaps were for the sake of knowledge though, as the former “Veronica Mars” star was simply teaching Sneider the rules for Whiskey Slaps, while Souza was showing how to take a classic telenovela slap.

TheWrap hit the road as well, chatting up a slew of genre stars at Comic-Con in San Diego and traveling the film festival circuit. Chris Evans sat down with TheWrap at the Toronto International Film Festival in September to talk about his directorial debut, “Before We Go.” But the “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” star wound up sharing a dubious honor with Kevin Smith, as both of them somehow talked about things going up their respective rears.

Back home in Los Angeles, TheWrap took the lead, hosting several industry events from TheGrill Media Leadership Conference, featuring technology, media and entertainment heavyweights discussing the convergence of their businesses in the modern era, to TheWrap’s Screening Series, which offered exclusive screenings of key films followed by panel discussion with the creative voices that brought them to the screen.

There was a lot of knowledge gained, plenty of laughs, lots of drinks, a surprising number of slaps and even a hint of poop talk in 2014 at TheWrap. It was a year of great moments in film and on television and TheWrap was there to catch it all — and even capture a few memorable moments of our own.

Here’s hoping 2015 brings even more on-screen fun.
