Two people were killed and three more were hospitalized during a shooting that broke out at an event affiliated with rapper Drake.

The Toronto Star reported the shootings occurred early Tuesday morning at approximately 3 a.m. local time at or near the Muzik nightclub at Exhibition Place, which was hosting the official afterparty for Drake’s annual OVO Fest.

The incident started inside the nightclub when one or two people were shot at the bar before the violence spilled outside.

A man and a woman were killed, while three others were left seriously injured. The man was pronounced dead at the scene on the club’s outdoor patio. The woman died en route to hospital.

Authorities believe there are three crime scenes and more victims who have not come forward. The police are not faulting Muzik for the incident.

“We’re satisfied at this point that the organization involved was doing their best,” Toronto police spokesman Frank Bergen said.

This is the second year in a row that the celebration was overshadowed by violence. In 2014, a man was shot after the OVO Fest afterparty held at the same night club, which said the shooting occured “some distance away from our premises at 4 a.m., long after Muzik had closed.”

Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, is a Toronto-born music artist. His annual OVO Fest event is in its sixth year.
