"The View" will be getting some down-to-earth advice wrapped in a Southern drawl when it returns in September.
Dr. Phil McGraw has been tapped to guest co-host "The View" on Sept 12, ABC said Thursday.
The daytime talk show, which returns Sept. 9 with new co-host Jenny McCarthy — who's taking Joy Behar's place — will employ a rotating guest hosts while it continues to search for a replacement for Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who left to join Fox News.

The first week back for "The View" will also include performances by Michael Buble, Gloria Estefan, Keith Urban and Sheryl Crow. Actors Robert De Niro, Orlando Bloom and Isaiah Washington will also appear on the show its first week back.
