ICM Partners Names Doug McLaren, Harley Copen Heads of Film Lit Department

"Doug and Harley are respected agents in the film business and are ideal choices to continue to build and strengthen our motion picture literary business," the agency said in a statement.

ICM Partners has named Doug MacLaren and Harley Copen the joint heads of ICM Partners’ motion picture literary department. Copen has been running the department on an interim basis alongside Emile Gladstone, who just left to help run Chris Morgan's company.

MacLaren has been with the agency since 1995 and previously served as co-head of the department. Copen, who became a partner last year, began his career at Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann, the boutique firm that ICM Partners bought in 2006.

"Doug and Harley are respected agents in the film business and are ideal choices to continue to build and strengthen our motion picture literary business," the partners said in a statement.

MacLaren and Copen will oversee a department representing writers and directors such as Woody Allen, Sofia Coppola, Tom Hooper, David Mamet, Stephen Frears, Vanessa Taylor, Lisa Cholodenko, Vince Gilligan, Thomas Vinterberg, Peter Weir, Joseph Cedar, Tim Robbins, Jack Paglen and Deepa Mehta.
