Donald Trump phoned into “CNN Tonight With Don Lemon” on Friday to reassure the news program’s host that he’s confident he won the previous night’s GOP debate.
“I’m Hillary’s worst nightmare,” Trump said of Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.
“I’m winning everywhere,” Trump boasted and said he isn’t rattled by “unfair” tactics employed by Fox News, which hosted the congregation of Republican presidential candidates. He later claimed that people are saying the debate was “The Trump Show.”
Asked if he would change anything about the night’s debate, Trump said, “I would’ve liked to have been treated fairly [by Fox].”
Adding insult to insult, he also continued his crusade against moderator Megyn Kelly, calling her a “lightweight.”
“I could tell you other things about Megyn Kelly that would be — just harsh,” he said, intimating that he had some dirt on the Fox News political commentator. “She’s not that good at what she does.”
Trump scoffed when Lemon contradicted him and insisted that Kelly is a respected journalist.
In the Thursday debate, Kelly had raised the real estate mogul’s ire with a question about his treatment of women: “You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals …”
Trump interrupted her to joke, “Only Rosie O’Donnell.” He has famously feuded with O’Donnell for years.
“Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president?” Kelly asked.
Trump responded that he didn’t have time for political correctness.
