“Portlandia” star says Donald Trump could make political punk protests relevant again.

On the eighth and final season of the offbeat IFC sketch-comedy show, Armisen and Carrie Brownstein help a character relive his punk phase by putting together the ultimate punk band, the former “Saturday Night Live” star told reporters Friday at the Television Critics Association press tour.

“Because of our current administration, punk can come back and be an angry type of music again,” Armisen said. “It was sort of impossible to do for a while.”

Guess we had things too good for the previous eight years.

Get that mohawk gel going and sew some patches on your jean jacket — here’s the lineup of that “Portlandia” super group:

  • Henry Rollins, lead singer
  • Krist Novoselic (of Nirvana), bass
  • Brendan Canty (of Fugazi), drummer

Season 8 of “Portlandia” premieres January 18 at 10/9c on IFC.
