Not everyone is celebrating the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision in favor of same-sex marriage.
The landmark ruling on Friday affirms that states cannot ban gay and lesbian couples from their constitutionally protected right to wed. Though the decision was widely embraced, the news was especially disappointing to conservatives.
“From a moral standpoint, 6/26 is now our 9/11,” American Family Radio host Bryan Fischer tweeted.
Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry opted for more subtle terms. He tweeted: “I’m a firm believer in traditional marriage, and I also believe the 10th Amendment leaves it to each state to decide this issue.”

This unconstitutional rejection of the expressed will of the people in over 30 states will be one of the court’s most disastrous decisions.

Homophobia is the fear of expressing your beliefs about homosexuality because you fear their disapproval more than you cherish your liberty.

This decision short-circuits the political process that has been underway on the state level for years.

While I disagree with this decision, we live in a republic and must abide by the law.

The Court is 1 of 3 coequal branches of government & they have an imperfect record. Stakes are too high to cede marriage to unelected judges
