BBC America dropped its official trailer today for “Doctor Who’s” 10th season, which also happens to be the final run for Peter Capaldi in the series’ iconic and titular role.
“This is the gateway to everything that ever was, or ever can be,” the star appropriately says to open Monday’s teaser.
The Doctor is also joined by new assistant, Bill (Pearl Mackie), with alien companion Nardole (Matt Lucas) making a welcome return — and classic foes, the Ice Warriors making an unwelcome one.
The “busy” gang then does its time-traveling thing, discovering a robot that speaks emoji along the way. However, the technology of 1814 is far less impressive.
And then there’s their trip to Mars. Yep, the TARDIS (disguised as a police box) is a pretty impressive mode of transport.
Fans are expecting to find out who the 13th Doctor Who will be during the show’s annual Christmas special, as has become one of the show’s many traditions.
The new season of “Doctor Who” premieres Saturday, April 15 at 9 p.m. on BBC America.
