Disney princesses become victims in a series of new illustrations from an artist hoping to raise awareness for sexual abuse from family members.
The images (below) from a collection titled “Princest Diaries” depict Ariel (“The Little Mermaid”), Jasmine (“Aladdin”), and Princess Aurora (“Sleeping Beauty”) uncomfortably kissing their fathers.

Each is tagged with an alarming statistic: “46 percent of minors who are raped are victims of family members. It’s never too late to report your attack.”
“The aim of the poster series is to encourage victims to report their cases in order for the authorities to prevent it from happening again,” a message from the artist, Saint Hoax, reads on the website.

The artist told Yahoo! Movies that the campaign was inspired by the revelation that a close friend was molested by her father when she was seven.
“It took her 14 years to be able to share that traumatizing experience. That story shocked me to my core,” Hoax said a statement. “I used Disney princesses because it’s a visual language that my targeted audience would be attracted to.”
Disney has not yet responded to TheWrap‘s request for comment.
