‘The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby’ Sells Ahead of Toronto (Exclusive)

Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy starrer comes in two parts and has racked up a number of sales ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival next month

The Beatles might be long gone, but Eleanor Rigby has been located in New York City.

A 40-day shoot for the Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy starrer “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby” wraps this week in the Big Apple in time for sales agent Myriad Pictures to present footage to buyers for the first time at the Toronto International Film Festival next month. As it stands, the double-sided project has already racked up a number of sales ahead of that showcase.

Getty ImagesTwo films have been made: “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His” and “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers,” focusing on one married couple, the first film told from the husband’s perspective and the second from the wife’s. Written and directed by Ned Benson, the films star James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain as the main couple.

Myriad has pre-sold the film to a number of different territories, including Wanda for Spain, Transmission for Australia, Swen in Latin America, Eagle in the Middle East, D Productions in Turkey, Aurora in the Ukraine, Five Stars in Israel, Koch in Italy and Lanterna in Portugal. 

The cast includes Isabelle Huppert, William Hurt, Viola Davis, Bill Hader, Ciaran Hinds, Jess Wexler and Nina Arianda. Chastain produced the film alongside Cassandra Kulukundis. Myriad's Kirk D’Amico serves as an executive producer.
