Jane Krakowski will co-star alongside Hailee Steinfeld in Apple’s comedy series about famed poet Emily Dickinson.

The “30 Rock” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” star will play Mrs. Dickinson, Emily’s mother. Steinfeld steps into the role of the revered poet as she explores the constraints of society, gender and family, and fights to get her voice heard.

“Dickinson” is a comedic series that takes viewers into the world of Emily Dickinson, audaciously exploring the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of a budding writer who doesn’t fit in to her own time, through her imaginative point of view. The series is Emily’s coming-of-age story — one woman’s fight to get her voice heard.

The series is executive produced by Academy Award-winning Michael Sugar (“Spotlight”) and Ashley Zalta (“Maniac”) for Sugar23 Productions; Alex Goldstone (“Welcome to the Jungle”) for Anonymous Content; and Darlene Hunt (“The Big C,” “I Heart Huckabees”).  It is written and executive produced by Alena Smith (“The Affair,” “The Newsroom”), directed and executive produced by David Gordon Green (“Stronger,” “Pineapple Express,” “Vice Principals”) and produced by wiip, Anonymous Content and Sugar23.

Krakowski starred for seven seasons on NBC’s “30 Rock” and is wrapping up the final season of Netflix’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” which premiers its final six episodes next year.

Krakowski is repped by United Talent Agency.
