Dick Van Dyke was on fire today — or at least his car was.
The "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" star escaped a potentially deadly situation on Monday when his car burst into flames on southern California's 101 freeway, the Los Angeles Times reports.

According to the Times, the CHP responded to a report of a burning vehicle near Parkway Calabasas at approximately 2 p.m. Van Dyke's flaming sports car caused the brief closure of two lanes on the highway.
Luckily, the acting legend was unhurt by the incident; his wife Arlene posted a video of Van Dyke interacting with law enforcement following the vehicular conflagration.
"He's fine thank God," Arlene wrote.
Now the actor can get back to the true menace of his life: The ottoman that keeps sneaking up behind him and trying to trip him in his living room.
